How does HIFU facial skin tightening work?
Step One - Book a consultation
During your initial consultation our expert practitioner will advise you on the best treatment for the results you desire. Following this, they will ask several health and lifestyle questions to make sure you’re suitable for the chosen treatment and go into more detail about your treatment journey and costings.
The Treatment
Our experienced practitioner uses ultrasound waves which are targeted to a controlled depth where thermal energy tightens and contracts underlying tissues down to the superficials muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS). This is the same layer that is typically only addressed by surgical intervention.
Results
Once the treatment has been completed, you will begin to see the results immediately. However, please bear in mind that the results will also continue to improve in the following weeks. Results can be continuously observed 2-3 months after treatment when remodelling and tightening has taken place.

How does a HIFU Facial Treatment Work?
This non-surgical facelift works on the SMAS layer deep below the skin, which is the area surgeons tighten for face and neck lifts. Rather than surgery, the Focus Dual harnesses ultrasound technology to radiate energy to the SMAS layer to tighten, lift and plump the skin.
How do I go about booking my appointment?
Step 1 – Book a consultation here.
Step 2 – Attend a 60 minute consultation where we will perform a skin analysis and take photos.
Step 3 – A bespoke treatment package will be created to suit your needs and budget. Finance options available.
Step 4 – Begin the treatment plan.
Step 5 – Maintenance treatments may be required once or twice a year age depending and how you take care of your skin between treatments.
How many treatments do you need?
Typically 3 treatments are required to give the best results.
Treatment spacing:-
First two treatments 8 weeks apart
The third treatment is required 12 weeks after the second treatment
Top-up sessions are performed as required, but usually only once or twice a year.
Is there any downtime with HIFU treatment?
Due to the non-invasive nature of HIFU treatments, there is virtually no downtime. You may experience slight redness following the treatment, and a small percentage of our clients do experience minor swelling, tingling or tenderness. These symptoms are mild and temporary.
You will be able to return to your normal activities straight away, and there are no special recovery measures needed. This is why HIFU has earned the name “lunchtime face lift”.
It is also important to follow your practitioners instructions. Following both the before-treatment instructions and after-treatment instructions will greatly reduce your risk of side effects.

You may experience some mild heating or a slight tingling sensation during treatment. Patients describe this as moderate and acceptable.
HIFU treatment aftercare advice
After undergoing HIFU treatment, it’s essential to follow proper aftercare advice to ensure the best possible results and minimize any potential side effects. Here are some general aftercare tips:
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay away from direct sunlight for at least a week after the treatment.
- Use Gentle Skincare Products: For the first few days post-treatment, avoid using harsh or irritating skincare products.
- Stick to gentle cleansers, moisturizers, and avoid products containing retinoids, glycolic acid, or other exfoliants.
- Avoid Excessive Heat: Stay away from hot baths, saunas, and hot showers for at least 72 hours after the procedure.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your body and skin hydrated, which can help with the healing process.
- Avoid Strenuous Exercise: Refrain from heavy workouts and intense physical activity for the first few days to allow your body to recover.
- No Facial Massages: Avoid getting facials or facial massages for at least two weeks after the HIFU treatment.
Remember, HIFU results are not immediate, usually taking several weeks to fully develop and each person may have different aftercare needs depending on their individual skin type and the extent of the HIFU treatment.
