Aging skin and facial skin tightening

As we age, our skin produces fewer collagens and elastin fibres and, as a result, loses its elasticity and tone. Our skin sags downwards and wrinkles appear. Environmental factors including smoking and high exposure to sun can worsen the effects of age on your skin but, ultimately, aging skin is a problem we will all face. Luckily, however, there are a range of treatments to revitalise and tighten skin. .

Age spots and hyperpigmentation

Changes to skin pigmentation including age spots and hyperpigmentation-a condition in which patches of skin become darker than surrounding areas- can be caused by a number of factors. These include exposure to UV light, stress and aging. Age spots or hyperpigmented patches are not harmful but many wish to have them removed for cosmetic reasons.

Red veins

Red veins and/or “spider veins” (thread veins) can show up near to the surface of the skin. Thread veins are harmless and can affect anyone but, due to their red/purple colour and visible presence, may impact on an individual’s confidence.

Rosacea & Redness

Rosacea is a common skin condition which can appear in the form of flaky skin, blood vessel abnormalities, skin redness and more. Some lifestyle factors can worsen rosacea and skin redness, including cold weather and stress. SkinGenius offer a range of solutions to treat both rosacea and general skin redness.

Open pores

Visibly open pores are a source of insecurity for many people. Open pore visibility can be worsened by several lifestyle factors, such as makeup and pollutants, but large pores are mostly a product of genetics. Loss of elasticity around the pore makes it become weak and loose.

Acne/excess oil and congestion

Acne is a common inflammatory disease caused by a build-up of excess oils which block gland openings, as well as the bacterium Propionibacterium acnes. The combination of these two things causes red and yellow spots to appear on the skin. Treating excess oil build-up, acne and congested skin can massively improve an individual’s self-esteem and restore a clear complexion.

Acne scarring

Acne very commonly leaves scarring and can cause an uneven skin tone. Luckily, there are a range of solutions that restore the skin and treat acne scarring very effectively.

Skin laxity

Skin laxity, or skin looseness, is something that everyone will face at some point in life. Skin laxity is caused by a number of extrinsic factors, including pollution and sun exposure, but is also a natural part of the aging process. As we age, we begin to lose collagen and elastin which keep our skin firm.

Sagging jowls

Skin laxity, or skin looseness, is something that everyone will face at some point in life. Skin laxity is caused by a number of extrinsic factors, including pollution and sun exposure, but is also a natural part of the aging process. As we age, we begin to lose collagen and elastin which keep our skin firm.

Sagging eyelids

Sagging or dropping eyelids are a normal part of the aging process as the skin loses elasticity and the muscles around the eyes become weaker. If sagging eyelids are a source of insecurity for you, there are a number of highly effective treatment options.

Dark circles

Dark circles under the eyes can be caused by a number of genetic factors and, as we age, can appear to worsen. There are a number of treatments available to treat dark circles, refresh your skin and revitalise your appearance.

Eye bags

eye bags often get worse as we age and the muscle tissue around our eyes weakens.

Neck, décolletage & chest

It has long been said that the neck, décolletage and chest area is one of the clearest indicators of age. Treating signs of aging on the neck, décolletage and chest – such as wrinkles, lines and sagging skin- can create a more youthful appearance and restore self-esteem.

Lip lines

Lip lines are small, vertical wrinkles that appear above the upper lip. Otherwise referred to as smoker’s lines, these lines are often caused by smoking. However, lip lines are also caused by a number of other factors including aging and too much sun exposure.

Dull & dehydrated skin

When the top layers of our skin lack water, our skin can appear dull and our pores can appear enlarged. There are a number of causes of dull, dehydrated skin beyond not drinking enough water. These range from genetic causes to showering in hard water.
